From ambulance lights to closing deals, my journey into real estate started with one question: What kind of life do I want to build for my family?
Real estate came at a time when I knew something had to change. I was working for the local fire department, mostly handling medical emergencies and driving the ambulance. That’s also where I met my wife, Nashey. We were ready to start our life together, but it quickly became clear that both of us working long shifts in medical emergencies wasn’t conducive to building a strong family. We would miss each other for an entire week at a time. One of us needed a different path.

Around that same time, we were buying our first house. I found the process fascinating. Watching the transaction unfold sparked something in me, and the entrepreneurial bug hit again: I wanted to become a REALTOR®.
This wasn’t my first attempt at building something of my own. Years earlier, in San Antonio, I worked as a medical assistant in a urology department, overseeing 40 to 50 patients a day—mostly men. I became deeply interested in health, particularly men’s health, after witnessing how suppressing emotions could directly impact physical well-being. Seeing it firsthand pushed me toward living a healthier lifestyle myself.

One day at the gym, I met a coach who introduced me to a brand of protein and supplements. I loved the products, began consuming them—rooted in my belief that health is of the utmost importance—and eventually began selling them. It became a solid source of extra income and something I genuinely believed in—health and wellness.
When I moved back to Eagle Pass, I opened my own nutrition club, serving energy drinks and protein shakes. The business did well in the first few months, but ultimately ended up closing. Soon after, I joined the fire department—but the business mindset in me never went away. I was just waiting for the right opportunity.

In 2020, as my daughter was about to be born, everything shifted. I was about to become a father, and I started thinking seriously about the kind of parent I wanted to be. Working long shifts in emergency services was simply not conducive to that lifestyle. That reflection led me to pursue my real estate license in 2022, which turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve made.
I’m still an athlete—I train CrossFit and compete yearly in CrossFit and Hyrox competitions—but now family is at the center of everything. I spend as much time as I can with my children, Ely, Nyeli, and Nevaeh, while continuing to prioritize my health. Real estate has given me the flexibility, purpose, and growth I was searching for—and the opportunity to build the kind of life I truly want for my family.
I bring extensive experience as a compassionate professional, having supported people through vulnerable and high-stress situations. That background shapes the way I approach real estate. I stay calm under pressure, help diffuse stress, and guide my clients with clarity and confidence throughout the process. Born and raised in Eagle Pass, I have deep knowledge of the area and can thoughtfully match clients with the right neighborhood and location for their needs and lifestyle. I am fully committed to the people I serve. I listen carefully to understand what matters most to them and work hard to meet those needs while securing the best deal possible. I’m proactive about keeping transactions on track and making sure nothing falls through the cracks. I don’t ignore calls or disappear—I answer my phone, stay accessible, and give my clients my full attention. I lead with honesty, manage expectations with transparency, and offer realistic guidance. Above all, I lead with kindness, ensuring every client feels valued, supported, and truly seen.
Sincerely,
Eric Benavides
